GOING FAR BEYOND THE CONGA

4THE NEW DISC by Sur Caribe leads us to FACE the integrating skills of a musician who, by blending together two sonorous worlds ( the symphonic and popular one), makes ten complement each other: " My credential" - a CD displaying Ricardo Leva´s full maturity, comprises 13 tuner that, from the very first lyric, tell us: " these are my credentials for the whole world", and proves it with pieces such as "Mis credenciales" (My credential),  "Sin papeles, no", ( Not without paper), "Quiéreme tu", ( love me) "El Patatum", (Fainting).

Plus,-on account of its special sonority-, "-"De mi corazón te quiero fuera" (you´d better go out of my Herat) should be singled out for its turns of Flemish style, showing us that no music is chemically pure.  "Lejos de Santiago"(Far from Santiago) transcends as homage paid to traditional troubadours. And so forth the disc draws closer to an enthralling and great ending: "Yearning for the conga", a tune achieving a symphony of styles, which, by overcoming hindrances between the so called popular and classical music, turn it into a definitive conga breathing fresh and integrating air .

Ricardo Leyva says, that, along with the disc, there will be a multimedia by Sur Caribe. Furthermore, in the upcoming months a DVD bearing a live concert in Santiago de Cuba will be released. Moreover, there will be a tour throughout the country. Sur Caribe´s near future has to do with carnivals in the Unites Kingdom ( U K) an Italy. And Leyva undertakes this way stepping over a disc that, trough somewhat aggressive in percussion and brass instruments, and endowed with a large amount of emotional load, is capable of making even the most lukewarm dancer move briskly to the rhythm of a music that goes beyond the conga itself .
